1 C water
2 C sugar
2/3 C shortening
1 C milk

2 ¾ C flour
4 ½ tsp baking powder
1 ½ tsp salt
2 C rhubarb in 1/2 “pieces
1 C sliced fresh strawberried
1/3 C sugar
½ tsp cinnamon
1 T butter
Directions:
Directions:
1. Combine sugar and water in 9 x 13 pan and place over low heat until sugar is dissolved.
2. Remove from heat and let stand while preparing remaining ingredients.
3. Measure flour into mixing bowl.
4. Add baking power and salt; stir well to blend.
5. Cut in shortening with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.
6. Add milk; stirring with a fork until all ingredients are moistened.
7. Turn out onto lightly floured surface and knead gently for 20 seconds.
8. Roll out to 10” x 12” rectangle.
9. Spread evenly with fruit.
10. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and dot with butter.
11. Roll up lengthwise sealing edges.
12. Cut into 12 – 1” slices.
13. Place cut side down in pan containing syrup mixture.
14. Bake at 450 for 25 to 30 minutes.
15. (Serve warm with cream)
