2 pkg. yeast (2 scant T.)
1/2 c. warm water
3/4 c. warm buttermilk
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
3 1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
Sugar coating:
1/2 c. melted butter
1 c. sugar
4 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:

Combine yeast and water. Let bubble. In large bowl add milk, sugar, salt, shortening, eggs, 2 cups of the flour and yeast. Beat 2 minutes with an electric mixer. Add vanilla and 1 1/4 cups of flour. Beat by hand for 2 more minutes. Drop a rounded tablespoon of batter into greased and floured muffin cups. Bake at 350º for 12 to 18 minutes, depending on size of muffin cups. Roll muffins in butter then cinnamon sugar mixture.
