4 cups of flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 stick of butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. In larger bowl, blend butter, sugar and eggs. Add buttermilk and raisins. Slowly add in flour mixture. Pour into a pie plate that has been greased with butter and floured. Bake in pre-heated oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Bread is done when an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

This is Megan's grandma's recipe. Since Megan is allergic to dairy, we can alter this recipe by replacing the butter with margarine (we use Earth's Balance) and replacing the buttermilk with 2 cups of soy milk that has 2 tablespoons of lemon juice added to it. It comes out just as good, and maybe even a bit more moist this way! Megan loves it!
