Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 loaf frozen bread dough
2 or 3 cups Peanut oil or Veg. Oil
4 tablespoons cinnamon
8 table spoons sugar

Directions:
The night before you are planning on serving this dish place frozen bread dough in a large buttered ( or use spray oil) bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Dough should thaw and begin to rise during the night. Check it in the morning and punch it down if it has risen too high. Once it has risen to about the height of the bowl place it in the fridge until ready to use. Be sure you keep the plastic wrap covering it until you are ready to cook it.

Mix sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl and place beside the frying pan. Place two or three paper towels next to bowl.

Place oil in large frying pan (oil should be about 1 - 2 inches deep) heat the oil on a medium high heat. Test if the oil is ready by dropping a small piece of dough into the oil. If it sizzles and turns brown in about 30 seconds it is the right temperature.

Tear off gobs of dough about the size of the palm of your hand or a little bigger (try not to deflate the dough) and drop into the hot oil, cook on each side for about 30 seconds or until it starts to brown. Dough God should be a light brown and be cooked all the way through when done.

Using tongs take Dough God out of the oil and place immediately in the cinnamon / sugar mixture, cover completely and place on a paper towel, continue making Dough Gods until you have made as much as you like.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This recipe is very much like the Elephant Ears you can buy at the zoo but much smaller and easy to handle. My mom used to make home made bread every Friday. She would always save bits of dough for us and make Dough 'Gobs' for us when we got home from school as a treat. One of us kids mistakenly called them" Dough Gods" and the name stuck. The biggest problem with this treat is that the family will grab them up as fast as you can make them, so don't forget to make a couple for yourself before you call the everyone into the kitchen. :D
