3 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp nutmeg
¼ tsp salt
3 tsp baking powder
½ cup butter
½ cup milk
1 egg beaten
1 cup currants

Directions:
Sift dry ingredients…work in butter (as in pie crust) add milk, eggs, currants. Roll with as little flour as possible. Cut in small circles with a cookie cutter or glass and bake on low-heated griddle or electric fry pan at 325. Turn once.

Grandmom Mills was of Welsh descent and this was her favorite cookie to serve anytime. It is similar to Welsh teacakes.
