My favorite frosting for this is printed on the back of the Hershey's cocoa can.
Here it is:
1/2 c butter 3 c powdered sugar 1 tsp vanilla
2/3 c cocoa 1/3 c milk
Melt butter. Stir in cocoa. Alternately add powdered sugar and milk; beating to spreading consistency. Add additional milk, 1 T at a time if needed. Stir in vanilla. Makes 2c frosting or enough for one cake.
John Torbet was so impressed when I made this cake with homemade chocolate icing that he decided he should marry me!!
