¼ c. icing sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. almond flavoring
1 c. flour
Pinch of salt
Whole maraschino cherries

Directions:
Mix the butter with the icing sugar. Add egg yolk and flavoring. Blend in the flour and salt.

Drain cherries, blot dry with a paper towel.

Take a teaspoon of dough, roll into a ball, then flatten in the palm of your hand. Wrap it around a cherry – just enough to cover it.

Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for 15 – 20 minutes.

*These cookies are usually included in plates of goodies at Christmas, so make them special by adding pink or green butter icing flavored with almond on the top of each cookie.
