Directions:
Put 1 cup hot water in a large mixer bowl. Melt butter or margarine in water. Add evaporated milk, eggs, sugar and salt.

Soften yeast in 2 Tbsp warm water and 1/4 tsp sugar. Measure flour (approximately 4 1/2 cups). Add half of flour at once, then 1 cup at a time. This will make a soft dough.

Let dough rise one hour. Roll into a rectangle. Spread generously with melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, chopped nuts and raisins.

Roll dough into a pinwheel log, and arrange in a horseshoe shape. Cut slices part way through with scissors and turn each section on its side.

Let rise until double. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Frost with powdered sugar icing and decorate with candied cherries and almonds.
