1 egg
3/4 c brown sugar
3/4 c granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup flour

1/2 cup flour
1 pkg chocolate chips
3/4 c oatmeal

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º.
Mix first four ingredients well. Add the next three ingredients. Mix well by hand. Add the additional1/2 c of flour to chocolate chips and oatmeal. (this helps the choc chips not sink to the bottom of the cookies) Mix into batter, by hand.
Drop by teaspoonful onto an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 6-7 minutes. John prefers no brown whatsoever on the cookies (like eating warmed up dough).

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
The KEY to success with these cookies is to mix them by hand. They cook beautifully! I always have people ask why and how they turn out so well and I'm telling you it is simply to mix them by hand.
