2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup butter or margarine; softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup light brown sugar (firmly packed)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 box of Smarties
Coconut & chocolate chips (optional)

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375’F. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl. In another bowl and using an electric mixer (or whisk), combine butter and sugars (brown and white) until light and fluffy. Then add vanilla. Beat in eggs one at a time. Blend in flour mixture. (Always put the dry ingredients into the wet mixture a bit at a time- NEVER dump all the dry ingredients in at once).
3. Stir in Smarties (coconut, chocolate chips- if desired). Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheet, about 2 inches apart. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Leave on baking sheet for 1-2 minutes to let cool.
