2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup butter (or Shortening)
2 eggs (well beaten)
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine and sift dry ingredients. Cream butter and then add sugar slowly until well blended. Add eggs and beat together well. Add the vanilla, then slowly mix the dry ingredients. Cover tightly and chill ½ hour.

On a very lightly floured board roll the dough 1/8 inch thick and cut with desired cookie cutters. Place on a very slightly greased cookie sheet and bake approximately 10-12 minutes @ 365 degrees.

You may want to sprinkle cookie with sugar before baking or ice with frosting and decorate when cool. (Frosting: 1 cup icing sugar, ½ tsp. vanilla and 1-2 tbsp. milk)
