48 Hershey© Kisses, unwrapped
1/2 c. shortening
3/4 c. peanut butter
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. white sugar
1 egg
2 T. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. white sugar in a small bowl

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375º. Mix together shortening and peanut butter. Add sugars and beat until fluffy. Add egg, milk and vanilla. Add flour, soda and salt. Mix well.

Shape dough into 1" balls. Roll in sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 min or until slightly brown. Remove from oven and immediately press chocolate kiss into center of each cookie. Remove and allow to cool on a wire rack. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
