1 c. shortening
1 c. peanut butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 & 1/4 cups flour
2 tsp soda
Equipment:
1. measuring spoons & cups
2. large mixing bowl
3. medium bowl
4. mixing spoon
5. cookie sheets
6. hot pads
7. pancake turner
8 cooling rack

Directions:
Directions:
1. In large bowl mix shortening & peanut butter with wooden spoon.
Add both kinds of sugar.
Stir 'til mixed.
Stir in eggs & vanilla 'til mixed.
2. In medium bowl, stir together flour & soda.
Stir into sugar until well mixed.
If you need to, use MIXER (or your hands) to mix dough.
Pre-heat oven to 350º
3. Form into balls, put on ungreased cookie sheets.
Can form dough into ropes in order to make numbers, figures of people, & other shapes.©
Bake & WATCH until done approx 5-8 minutes, depending on thickness of shapes formed. Use timer set at 4 minute intervals.

When ever mom baked cookies she went all out ! By the time we woke up in the morning she would have 13 dozen cooling, ready to bag and freeze. We were never without cookies in our house!
