2 T. vegetable oil
3/4 lg. onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
1 lb. ground beef
3/4 lb. beef sirloin, cubed



MIX TOGETHER:

1 (14.5 oz.) can peeled & diced tomatoes with juice
3 1/2 T. chili powder (adjust for desired flavor)
12 oz. dark beer
1 c. strong brewed coffee
2 cans (6 oz.) tomato paste
1 can (14 oz.) beef broth
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 T. unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. ground cayenne pepper
1 tsp. ground coriander
1 tsp. salt
1 T. cumin seeds
4 (15 oz.) cans kidney beans
4 fresh jalapeno peppers, chopped (adjust for desired flavor)

Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook onions, garlic, ground beef & cubed sirloin in oil until the meat is well browned & the onions are tender. Mix in the rest of the ingredients and simmer until heated through. The longer it stews, the better the flavor.

I like to do this over a 2-3 hour period. Can be done in a crock pot.
