4 cup flour - spoon lightly into cup
1 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tsp. salt
1 3/4 cup Crisco
1/2 cup water
1 Tbsp. white or cider vinegar
1 large egg

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, stir together with a fork the flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in shortening until crumbly.

In a small bowl, beat together the water, vinegar, and egg. Add to the flour mixture and stir until moistened.

Divide the dough into five portions. Shape each unto a rounded patty to roll. Wrap each in plastic wrap and put in the refrigerator for 1/2 hour. When ready to use, lightly flour and roll out on floured board.

Bake on bottom shelf of oven.
Can be kept in refrigerator for a few weeks.
Makes 2-9 inch double crusts and 1 shell, or 20 tarts.
