5 1/2 cps thinly sliced peeled tart apples
1/4 cp apple cider or juice
1/3 cp apple jelly melted
1 cp granulated sugar
3 tbsps flour
1 tbsp quick cooking tapioca
1/8 tsp salt
pastry for double pie crust, 9 inches
2 tbsps butter

Directions:
Directions:
1) In a large bowl, combine apple, cider and jelly.
2) Combine the sugar, flour, tapioca and salt; add to apple mixture and toss gently to coat.
3) Let stand for 15 mins.
4) Meanwhile, line a 9 inch pie plate with bottom pastry; trim pastry even with edge of plate.
5) Add filling; dot with butter.
6) Roll out remaining pastry to fit top of pie; place over filling.
7) Trim, seal, and flute edges.
8) Cut slits in top.
9) Cover edges loosely with foil.
10) Bake at 400f for 20 mins.
11) Remove foil; bake 30 to 35 mins longer or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly.
12) Cool on wire rack.
