Cake:
1 stick of unsalted butter (softened)
1 1/2 cups of sugar
2 eggs (beaten)
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tsp. baking soda
2 large bananas (mashed)
2 cups flour (pre-sifted)
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt


Chocolate frosting:
1/2 stick unsalted butter (melted)
1/3 box of confectioners sugar
4 Tbls. cocoa (unsweetened)
1/2 tsp. vanilla
milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees (325 for glass pans). Grease an 8x11 inch pan.
Cream butter and sugar. Beat well. Add eggs. Add sour cream that is mixed with baking soda. Beat well. Add mashed bananas, beat well and then add flour in 3 parts, beating after each part. Add salt and vanilla and beat well. Pour into pan and bake 45 minutes or until wooden toothpick, inserted in center of cake, comes out clean and dry. Cool on wire rack and frost with chocolate frosting (recipe below).

Frosting:
Mix all ingredients together, adding milk, a little at a time, until reach desired consistency. Beat well and frost cooled cake. Enjoy!

This was my family's favorite cake that my mother made when I was growing up and now my children and grandchildren love it also.
