1 lb. pinto beans
1/4 lb. salt pork (or a couple of piece of bacon)
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 lb. ground meat
2 Tbsp. chili powder
1 large can tomatoes
2 onions
salt

Directions:
Directions:
Put beans, salt pork, brown sugar and 1 tsp. salt in large pot. Add enough
water to make pan 1/2 full. Bring to a boil and cook slowly about 3 hours.
Before beans are done, brown ground meat, add chili powder and tomatoes.
Simmer 10 minutes. Pour this into the beans and onions that have been
quartered. Simmer another 30 minutes. Serve with chow-chow and cornbread.
