1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. oatmeal
2 c. chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugars and butter until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well. Mix dry ingredients and add to butter mixture. Stir in oatmeal and chips. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake at 350º for 12-15 minutes.

Variation: May substitute raisins for the chips.

Ken and I make these cookies together, and they are our favorites. Cousin Jan told me the secret to making cookies is to cream the butter and sugars until the mixture is light and fluffy.
