2 cans pie cherries or raspberries, in juice
1 c. sugar
6 Tbsp. flour

1 c. butter or margarine
1 3/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Directions:

Using saucepan, drain juice from pie fruit of choice (pie cherries or raspberries with juice is found in canned fruit section). Add sugar and flour and cook to a boil. Add fruit and set aside.

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs. Add flavoring and dry ingredients and mix well. Pour 2/3 of the batter into a greased 10x15" inch pan. Pour cherries over dough. As evenly as possible, drop by 1/2 tsp. portions, the remaining batter over the cherries. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes.

Drizzle a thin, powdered sugar frosting over bars while warm.
