1/2 cup butter.
1/2 cup sugar.
1/4 cup brown sugar.
1 egg well beaten.
1 cup plus 2 tbsp. flour.
1/2 tsp. baking soda.
1/2 tsp. salt.
1/4 tsp. hot water
16oz. pkg. semisweet chocolate chips.
1/2 tsp. vanilla.

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugars, add egg and beat well. Stir together dry ingredients, add to creamed mixture. Add hot water, mix until well blended. Add chocolate chips and vanilla. Drop from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake in 375 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes.

I always double this recipe. You can also add 1/2 cup chopped nuts but not if I am visiting, allergy!
