3 c. self-rising flour
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. caraway seed, optional
1 bottle or can (12 oz.) beer or light ale
1/4 c. melted butter or margarine

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Grease loaf pan. In large bowl, stir together flour, sugar, seeds and beer, just until combined. Spoon into bread pan and pour melted butter over top of batter. Bake until loaf is golden and begins to pull from edge of pan, about 50 minutes. Remove bread from pan and place on rack to cool slightly. Serve warm.

Note: You can substitue 3 c. all-purpose flour plus 1 1/2 tsp. salt and 4 1/2 tsp. baking powder for the self-rising flour.
