2 1/2 cups walnut halves
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º. Place walnuts in a shallow baking pan and heat for 15 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove from oven and set aside to cool. In a large pot, combine sugar, water, cinnamon and salt until blended and heat to 236º (soft-ball stage) without stirring. Remove from heat,
stir in vanilla. Add walnuts and gently stir until well coated and mixture becomes creamy. Quickly turn out onto a greased platter or cookie tray. Separate the walnuts as they cool. Store in airtight container.
