BUTTER CRUST:
1 STICK MARGARINE
1 1/2 C FLOUR

PIE FILLING:
2 tbsp cocoa
3 egg yolks
1 1/2 c sugar
1/2 stick margarine
1/2 c all purpose flour
1 tsp vanilla
1 c milk


NEVER FAIL MERINGUE:
1 tbsp cornstarch
6 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp cold water
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 c boiling water
pinch of salt
3 egg whites

Directions:
Directions:
BUTTER CRUST:
Mix margarine & flour. Pat into pie pan. Bake @ 350 degrees. Do not over brown; if too brown the butter will taste burnt. Cool.

FILLING:
Combine all ingredients except vanilla. Cook until thick & bubbly (will thicken very quickly). Add vanilla and whisk until smooth. Pour into cooled butter crust pie shell. Top with Meringue.

MERINGUE:
Blend cornstarch & cold water in sauce pan. Add boiling water & cook, stirring until clear & thickened. Let stand until completely cold.
With electric mixer, beat egg whites until foamy, gradually add sugar & beat until very stiff, but not dry. Add constrarch mixture, vanilla & salt. Turn mixture on high speed & beat well. Spread meringue over cooled pie filling.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until meringue is brown.
