1/2 C. boiling water
4 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
2 1/2 C. all-purpose flour
2 C. sugar
3 eggs beaten
3/4 C. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tsp. red cake food coloring
1 C. buttermilk

Icing:
2 C. powder sugar
1 tsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Milk

Directions:
Directions:
Melt chocolate in boiling water and cool. Cream butter, sugar and eggs until fluffy. Add chocolate,vanilla,cake coloring and 1 cup buttermilk. Mix well. Add flour,soda and salt, beat until smooth. Pour into 8 x 13 pan. Bake at 350º for 50 minutes.

Icing: Mix powder sugar, butter and vanilla. Add milk 1 teaspoon at a time to get icing consistency. Spread over cooked cake.
