3 cups hot applesauce (cook and strain)
1 cup lard
2 cups sugar
4-1/2 cups flour
4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp allspice
2-1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
2 lbs raisins - 1 light and 1 dark
1/2 lb citron
1/2 lemon rind - candied
1/4 lb orange peel, candied
1/4 lb cut walnuts
1/2 lb pineapple, candied
1/4 lb cherries, candied

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Take applesauce, lard and sugar. Mix well and let stand overnight. Add the other ingredients and put 2 layers of wax paper in bottom of pan and bake 1 to 1-1/2 hours.
