2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate morsels (12 oz. pkg.)
1 cup nuts, chopped

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl. Beat butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually blend in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded spoon onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375º for 9-11 minutes. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire rack to cool.

PAN COOKIE VARIATION: Grease 15 x 10 inch jelly roll pan. Prepare dough as above. Spread into prepared pan. Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack. Cool and cut into bars. Makes 4 dozen bars.
