2 tbsp yeast
1/2 cup warm water
1 tsp sugar
4 cups lukewarm water
3 tsp salt
3/4 cup sugar
6 cups flour
2 tbsp oil
3 cups raisins
5-6 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Soften the yeast with 1/2 cup warm water and the tsp of sugar. Let it sit for 10 minutes. Add more water, salt and sugar. Add the oil and the first bit of flour. Add the raisins, and the rest of the flour.
Knead until smooth and elastic. Let rise about 2 hours. Punch down and let rise another two hours. Do not punch down again. Cut and shape the loaves. Place in greased baking pans and let rise about an hour. Bake at 400ºF for 30-40 minutes.
