1-1/2 to 2 pounds beef round steak
2 T. cooking oil
1 C. onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 tomatoes, minced or 1 can (16 oz.) tomatoes with liquid, cut up
2 large green peppers, minced
1/2 C. water
1 T. Gebhardt's chili powder

Cut beef into serving pieces; brown in oil in skillet. Combine the next seven ingredients; pour over beef and stir. Cover and cook on low for about an hour until meat is tender. Add water, chili powder and green pepper and cook about 10 minutes more. Serve over rice.
