8 pork chops
2 T butter
S & P to taste
1 1-lb cans sauerkraut
1 T Dijon-type mild mustard
1/2 C applesauce
1 C beer
1 T cornstarch dissolved in 2T cold water

Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Saute pork chops in butter until lightly browned on both sides. Season with S&P. Rinse sauerkraut under cold running water and squeeze dry. Place sauerkraut in a baking dish. Add mustard, applesauce and beer. Place shops on the bed of sauerkraut. Cover and steam in a preheated 350º oven for forty minutes. Stir in cornstarch to thicken juices.
