Granny Smith Apples
1/3 cup butter or margarine cut into small pieces
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup oatmeal
1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg according to taste
vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired

Butter casserole dish. Fill about half way with sliced tart apples (Granny Smith work well). Sprinkle about half the topping on, fill dish with remaining apples and remaining topping. Bake at 375 degrees for 30-40 minutes until bubbly and apples are cooked. Top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
