1 and 1/2 c. chick pea flour (Besan or Gram)
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
2 - 3 cloves of garlic(crushed)
1 c. warm water
2 c. sliced round potatoes
2 c. sliced round onions
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying

Sieve flour into a large basin add salt, turmeric powder, chili powder, crushed garlic and stir well. Gradually add water until the mixture turns into a smooth batter. If it is too thick add a little more water if it is too thin add a little more flour.
Heat the oil in a deep frying pan. Dip the round cut potatoes and the onion into the batter and drop gently into the oil for deep frying. Keep the heat on medium and let it cook inside and out..keep till it turns golden brown and crispy. Remove pakoras onto paper-towels and drain the oil before eating. Cab be eaten with tomato chutney or tomato ketchup!

Be careful while frying..Use a suitable stirrer. Do not crowd the pakoras while frying.
