4 cups chicken broth
2 cups fresh spinach, washed and stemmed
6 green onions with tops, sliced
2 cups mashed potatoes
2 cups half and half
1/2 tsp hot sauce
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
Lemon twists (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Bring broth to a boil in a Dutch oven; add spinach and onions. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 3-5 minutes.
Place about 1/4 of broth mixture in container of electric blender; process until smooth. Repeat procedure with remaining mixture. Return to Dutch oven; stir in mashed potatoes with a wire-whisk until soup is smooth. Stir in remaining ingredients except lemon twists. Cook on low until soup is heated. Garnish each serving with a lemon twist; if desired.
