1-1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp grated orange peel
1 cup softened butter, margarine or shortening
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups quick or rolled oats
1 cup raisins

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375º. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ground ginger, cloves, and grated orange peel. Set aside. In a large bowl, beat butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Gradually stir in flour mixture. Stir in oats and raisins. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 7 to 8 minutes for chewy cookies; 9 to 10 minutes for crisp cookies. Cool for 2 minutes and remove to wire racks to cool completely.
