1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons milk
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups quick oats

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening, sugar, egg, vanilla and milk. Mix well. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Mix well. Fold in oats. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake in 375º oven 12 to 15 minutes. Cool on rack.Makes 4 dozen cookies.
