1 loaf French Bread (18 – 20” long
1 quart milk
2 c. sugar
3 eggs, lightly beaten
2 T vanilla
1 t. cinnamon
2 T butter, melted

Sauce (A.K.A. Liquid Gold):
1 stick butter
1 c. sugar
1 well beaten egg
1 T bourbon

Directions:
Directions:
Cut bread into chunks, put in big bowl & pour in milk. Soak for 1 hour in fridge; stir once or twice to make sure all bread is coated.

Stir in sugar, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon. Coat bottom and sides of 13” x 9” baking pan with melted butter & spread the bread pudding evenly into the pan. Bake for 1 hour at 350. (Should look brown and raised.)

Sauce:

In top of double boiler, stir butter and sugar until fully melted and smooth. Whisk in the beaten egg a little at a time – important or it won’t come out smooth. Add bourbon, and serve warm over pudding.
