3 cups fruit, peeled & sliced (peaches, apples)
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup flour (sifted)
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 beaten egg
6 Tablespoons butter--melted

Directions:

Pre-heat oven to 375. Place fruit in bottom of 9x13 baking dish. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Sift together dry ingredients; add egg, tossing with fork until crumbly. Sprinkle topping over fruit. Drizzle with melted butter. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden.

Julie: I think this originated from Better Homes & Gardens in the late 50's or early 60's. I make it with peaches or apples, but I’m sure it’s great with any fresh fruit. It’s really the best shortly after coming out of the oven--the topping is crunchy and chewy at the same time. The next day it can be a bit soggy. So, top it with a bit of vanilla ice cream and eat it fast!

Sarajane: I'm known in the family to like EASY recipes and this is one of my favorites. Have made many peach cobblers with this recipe.
