2 lb. ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 c. good bread crumbs
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. water
2 eggs, beaten
1 can tomato sauce (with mushrooms if available)
1/4 c. lemon juice
1/2 c. sugar (or 2 T. can be brown sugar)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine the first seven ingredients and half the can of sauce and mix well.
In a greased baking dish, shape the mixture in a loaf.
Combine the remaining sauce, lemon juice, and sugar. Pour it over the meat.
Bake in a 350 degree oven for one hour, basting frequently.
