Directions:
Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup lukewarm water. (It is best to put teaspoon of sugar in the yeast and water.) Set aside while getting other things ready. Mix together water and milk. Add shortening, sugar, salt and 3 cups of flour. Add yeast mix. Beat with mixer. Gradually add enough flour with spoon until mixture leaves bowl. Knead in the rest of the flour until dough isn't sticky. Let rise, punch down and let rise again. Separate dough into four parts.
