1/2c softened margarine
3/4c white sugar
2 eggs beaten slightly
1/4c molasses
2c flour
3 teap baking powder, 1 teasp salt,
2 cups of bran & 1c milk.
Dates, raisins or cranberries Optional

Directions:
In separate bowl sift together; flour, 3 teap baking powder, 1 teasp salt, Mix marg, sugar, eggs and molasses in another bowl until well blended. Add sifted flour baking powder and salt. Mix well. Add milk and bran alternately until well blended. Fold in fruit. You may need an extra 1/4c milk. Fill baking cups 3/4 full and bake for 20-25 min @ 350 degrees

The batter is not dense and can be quite moist. Adding a bit of fruit helps to add more flavour and keeps the muffins moist. Freezes well.
