8 slices of apples
2 cups flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup shortening

1/2 cup milk, pour all at once

Syrup:

1/4 cup butter

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

2 cups cold water

2 cups white sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix dumpling ingredients lightly, roll into two large circles. Cut into 4 pieces. Place sliced apples into each piece and fold over and seal. Makes 8 dumplings. Put in baking dish.

Bring syrup to boil and pour syrup over dumplings. Bake in 375 degree oven for 35 minutes.
