2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
1/3 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Chocolate Frosting:
1/4 cup butter
3 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa
3 tbsp. buttermilk
2 1/4 c. sifted confectioners' sugar
1 t . vanilla
1/2 C. chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cake: In a medium saucepan combine butter, cocoa, and water. Bring to a boil and stir constantly. Remove from heat. Add in the dry ingredients and mix until thoroughly blended. Add eggs one at a time, then buttermilk, and vanilla. Beat for 1 minute (batter will be thin). Pour batter into a greased pan.
Bake at 350° for about 25 minutes for a 15X10-inch pan or 35 minutes for the 13X9-inch pan, or until a wooden pick or cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.

Frosting: In a medium saucepan combine butter, cocoa, and buttermilk. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat; add powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat until smooth. stir in chopped pecans.
Pour over warm cake. Serve when cooled.
