2 pkg. dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water
2 cups lukewarm milk scalded then cooled
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup oil or shortening
3 tsp baking powder
2 tsp salt
1 egg
5 to 6 cups flour

Powder Sugar Frosting
1 cup powdered sugar
1 Tbls milk
1/2 tsp vanilla

Mix until smooth, spreading consistency

Dissolve yeast in warm, stir in Milk 1/3 c sugar, oil, baking powder, salt egg and 2 to 3 cups of flour. Beat until smooth, mix in enough of remaining flour to make dough easy to handle.
Turn dough onto well floured board, knead until smooth. Place in greased bowl, greased side up, cover let rise in warm place until double, about 1 1/2 hour. Punch down, roll spread with butter, sugar and cinnamon. Add raisins and nuts if wanted. Roll up pinch to hold, stretch roll to make it even. Cut into 24 slices. Bake 30 - 35 minutes 350º or until golden brown.
