1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup chopped or grated apple
1/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons oil

Sauce:
1 envelope brown gravy mix
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 cup water

Directions:

Combine beef, apples, bread crumbs, onion, egg, and salt. shape into small meatballs but do not pack tightly. Brown them in oil. Stir in contents of gravy mix, water and brown sugar. Bring to boil, then cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until done..

This was in the Atlanta Journal Newspaper and was sent to me by my mother, Nell Williams, in 1970 when I was a newlywed living in California. I still make it for my entire family and they really enjoy it.
