Pop Tarts Recipe

1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter - soft
3 T. cold water
Jam or other filling

GLAZE
1 c powdered sugar
milk to thin

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour and salt in a bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly. Add water 1 T at a time. Gently mix until it becomes a dough. Roll out onto a floured surface. Cut rectangles 2" x 3" 1/4" thick. Spoon 1-2 T jam, spread out leaving an edge all the way around. Place second piece on top, seal edges.

Bake 425º 7-8 minutes.

GLAZE
Mix enough milk in the powdered sugar to thin it. Glaze the top of each hot poptart. If you're going to put them in a toaster later, hold the glaze until then.

I realize most people won't ever make their own poptarts but for family's like mine where allergies are abundant, it is a fun alternative to pancakes and cereal.
