1 c. shortening or margarine
2 c. sugar
1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. soda
4 tsp. baking powder
4 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar together. Add eggs one at a time and continue to beat. Add sour cream and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Roll on floured canvas fairly thick. Cut into large rounds with a cookie cutter. Place on cookie sheet, sprinkle with nuts or decorate with raisins. Bake at 350º 15-18 mintues. Should be large soft and thick.
