1 pkg. yeast or yeast cake
2-3 T. warm water
5 C. flour
3-5 T. sugar
1 T. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 C. shortening
2 C. buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in water. Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and soda together. Cut in shortening. Stir in yeast mixture and buttermilk. Roll out on floured board, cut into biscuits.

Bake 400º for 10-20 minutes.

These biscuits are actually a cross between a biscuit and a roll. They are easy to make, never fail biscuits. They taste more like a roll because of the yeast.
