2 C. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. sifted salt
2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/3 C. shortening
1 C. grated Cheddar or Monterrey Jack cheese
3/4 C. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Cut in shortening. Add cheese. Add milk and stir with fork until soft dough formed. Turn out on lightly floured board and knead about 20 turns. Pat or roll lightly to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with floured two-inch cutter. Bake on ungreased baking sheet.

450º for 8-10 minutes.
