"Dough"
4 c. flour
1 c crisco
2 sticks oleo
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 c. iced water
1 beaten egg
1 tsp cream of tartar

"Filling"
1 lb powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 T flour
1 1/2 c. crisco
dash of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º

Dough: Mix the flour, cream of tartar, sugar, salt, oleo, crisco like pie dough and add the egg and water. Mix well. Form into five balls. Chill one hour and roll out in waxpaper like a jellyroll. Chill 4-5 hours and take out one at a time. Cut into strips and put on rods. Bake 20 minutes in 350º (If you do not have rods you can use foil covered clothespins.)

Filling: Beat 30 minutes. Fill each lady lock and roll in dry powdered sugar. These freeze well. (Locks are easiest to fill if you use a pastry bag like used for cake decorating)
