3 cups sugar
2 T. Karo syrup
1 tsp. soda
4 cups pecans
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 stick butter (Mother uses 1 stick)
1 T. vanilla
Pinch salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients except vanilla and butter. Cook on medium heat to hard ball stage when dropped in cold water. Remove from heat and add vanilla and butter. Beat until thick and mixture will hold its shape when dropped onto waxed paper.

These pralines are the best I have ever eaten. They are not difficult to make. Be sure and cook long enough, but not too long.
